Recognition of those lows and/or highs, combined with a trained alert, makes these life-saving dogs one of the best tools in the arsenal of a family with a diabetic. One of the most common phone calls I get from clients with a new puppy goes something like this: "He bit me [or a family member]. What do I do to prevent this?" Following is an Ian Dunbar handout that explains why it is important that puppies bite and how to teach bite inhibition. Dunbar is considered the father of positive dog training. Enjoy!
