Dee is a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a Delta Society Pet Partner, as well as an AKC Canine Good Citizen and Star Puppy evaluator, and a Red Cross Pet First Aid instructor. She volunteers with Lab Rescue and sits on the board of Many Paths Rescue and Rehabilitation. She maintains two blogs and is a guest writer for others.
Dee's
love affair with Labrador Retrievers began with Maggie, her first
working retriever. Whether waterfowling on the eastern shore or upland
game hunting in Pennsylvania, Maggie was true to her breed. She
willingly worked long hours, retrieving equally well in the heat of the
first day of dove season and the freezing cold of a November duck hunt.
Dee's next working Lab was Cody, her search and rescue dog. Trained for
air scent SAR, Cody (left) exhibited the high drive and great nose that Labs
are known for. Dee's current working dog is Murphy, her therapy dog.
